Safety and Occupational Health Manager
This position is with the U. S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), within the Directorate of Cooperative and State Programs (DCSP) in the Office of Partnerships and Recognition (OPR), located in Washington DC. This position is at the full performance level. This position is inside the bargaining unit. This position is NOT remote. Selectee will be expected to report to the office listed above.
Duties for the Safety and Occupational Health Manager include, but are not limited to, the following: Maintaining oversight of programs within the office's responsibility to develop policies and procedures to monitor, evaluate and improve their effectiveness. Identifying technical resources and aggregating enforcement data to facilitate compliance. Developing materials to determine the escalation of issues including recommendations on national - impact interpretations. Reviewing recommendations for Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) approvals, denials or termination. Developing supportive data and summaries to evaluate programs and support decisions.
