WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist, you will: Participate on standing and ad-hoc committees (or equivalent) to assess, evaluate, measure, and control or eliminate unsafe conditions or hazards. Provide guidance and recommendations on safety methods, standards, and procedures to eliminate or control a broad range of unsafe acts or conditions in a variety of work environments. Train and instruct others on a variety of specialized safety and health subjects using a variety of tools and adapting various tools to fit special and unique training requirements. Prepare guides and instructions for programs and activities having various safety risk levels. Prepare and update guides, standards, instructions, operating procedures and/or policies, reports, and other substantive documentation for high-risk activities. Perfom site visits and/or inspect off-site facilities to ensure compliance. Respond to accidents, exposures, and other emergencies.
