SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST

You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the Command Navy Region of NAVSTA.

You will identify mishap causes and hazards to implement remedial measures.

You will make recommendations to managers concerning safety program requirements, policies, and improvements to reduce mishap occurrences.

You will maintain the safety of employees using knowledge of occupational safety and health policies, directives, regulations, protocols and requirements.

You will conduct follow up inspections to determine that all unsafe conditions have been corrected.

You will talk with safety and occupational health specialists and other commands to identify hazards related to new equipment.

You will compose letters and special reports regarding safety and occupational health issues.

You will implement explosives safety regulations and procedures to minimize potential safety hazards.
