SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: You will serve as a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist at the Chief Joseph Dam Operating Project assisting on all safety program, compliance issues, and activities.

Assist the Senior Project Safety specialist to plan, develop and implement a comprehensive safety and industrial hygiene program.

Coordinates, and executes a safety program to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Agency safety laws and regulations.

Provide advice to the Operations Project Manager and subordinate staff for all safety and industrial hygiene related matters.

Coordinate required site safety inspection activities.

Employs knowledge of Operation and Maintenance, and general industry work practices and methods to research, interpret and appropriately apply safety laws, regulations and policies.

Develop and implement an ongoing safety training program for the Project workforce.
