About the Role

Passel Farms is seeking an experienced Safety Compliance Manager to lead safety and regulatory compliance programs across our integrated pork production operation — including sow (reproductive) sites, grow-finish barns, feed milling, DOT-regulated transportation, and light fleet operations. This role owns the full safety lifecycle: policy development, training, regulatory compliance, and performance reporting across a diverse, multi-site workforce.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Program Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide safety programs across all risk centers: Reproductive/Sow sites, Grow-Finish, Feed Mill, Transport, Truck wash, and Office/Admin, and Maintenance teams
  • Conduct routine site safety audits, hazard assessments, and job safety analyses (JSAs) tailored to livestock, milling, and transportation environments
  • Maintain and present TRIR, DART, and other OSHA-recognized safety metrics; benchmark performance against BLS SOII data for NAICS 112210 (Hog and Pig Farming)

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA General Industry and Agriculture standards across all facility types
  • Work directly with transportation management to maintain a compliance program: driver qualification files, hours of service, drug and alcohol testing (DOT/FMCSA), vehicle maintenance records, and CSA score monitoring
  • Oversee light fleet vehicle safety compliance, including driver eligibility, vehicle inspections, and telematics/dashcam program compliance
  • Maintain OSHA recordkeeping (300/300A/301 logs) and coordinate site-level reporting

Training & Culture

  • Design and deliver safety training programs (new hire onboarding, recurring/annual certifications, equipment-specific training) in both English and Spanish
  • Build and maintain a strong safety culture across sow, grow-finish, mill, and transport teams through consistent communication, coaching, and engagement
  • Partner with site supervisors and HR to reinforce safety accountability at all levels

Reporting & Analytics

  • Maintain safety data reporting tools and dashboards tracking incident trends, injury causes, and leading/lagging indicators across all 35+ work locations
  • Present regular safety performance updates to leadership, identifying trends and recommending interventions
  • Manage workers' compensation claims process in coordination with HR and insurance carriers, including hours and loss data integration into safety reporting
