Safety Coordinator
Summary
Coordinates workplace safety programs, conducts site inspections, and ensures compliance with Singapore’s WSH regulations in a construction environment.
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing workplace safety, health, and environmental (WSH) programmes to ensure compliance with statutory regulations, company policies, and client requirements while promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing and monitoring the company's Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) management system.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts or conditions.
- Ensure compliance with WSH regulations, company safety procedures, and client safety requirements.
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox meetings, and safety briefings for employees and subcontractors.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure safe work practices are followed.
- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, permits, and statutory documentation.
- Coordinate safety audits and support corrective actions to improve safety performance.
- Liaise with project teams, clients, and regulatory authorities on safety-related matters.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health or a related discipline.
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Coordinator (WSHC) certification recognised in Singapore.
- Relevant first aid and safety-related certifications are an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in workplace safety, preferably in the construction industry.
- Good knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Health Act, WSH Regulations, and Code of Practice.
- Experience conducting site inspections, incident investigations, and safety training.
