Safety Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator manages the facility’s safety and environmental programs to effectively reduce and minimize workplace accidents.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Completes daily, weekly, monthly compliance inspections
• Assists management in root-cause investigation and corrective actions
• Facilitates injury reporting process when EHS Manager is unable to facilitate
• Facilitates OSHA training and PPE assessments in plant as directed by EHS Manager’s priorities
• Participates in facilitation of monthly safety committee meetings
• Supports ergonomics program in the facility
• Serves as back-up support for OSHA log management and regulatory inspection point of contact when management is unavailable
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required: _ High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Preferred Degree: Bachelor’s degree in industrial safety, occupational safety, environmental/safety sciences, or industrial engineering preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

• Computer skills: intermediate to advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word, and Outlook. Gensuite experience is a plus.
• Ability to positively influence operations peer group is critical for success in this role. Strong understanding of industrial manufacturing, EHS Management system implementation

Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
