SAFETY COORDINATOR
Summary
Oversee workplace safety on construction sites by inspecting hazards, enforcing regulations, and coordinating audits to prevent accidents and ensure compliance.
Job Description
- Assist in implementing and monitoring the company's Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) management system.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts or conditions.
- Ensure compliance with WSH regulations, company safety procedures, and client safety requirements.
- Perform daily inspection to ensure compliance to prevailing MOM regulations.
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox meetings, and safety briefings for employees and subcontractors.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure safe work practices are followed.
- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, permits, and statutory documentation.
- Coordinate safety audits and support corrective actions to improve safety performance.
- Liaise with project teams, clients, and regulatory authorities on safety-related matters
Requirements
- Certificate in Advanced Certificate in WSH Level B and/or any relevant Safety Certificates.
- With at least 3 years of working experience in high-rise building
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Good knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Health Act and its subsidiary regulations
- Familiar with MOM Workplace Safety and Health regulations and industry best practices.
- Knowledge of Risk Assessment (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Permit-to-Work (PTW), and incident reporting.
- 6 days work week.
- Responsible, proactive, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
