Safety Coordinator

Summary

Oversee workplace safety and health compliance on construction sites, conducting inspections, risk assessments, and training to prevent accidents and ensure regulatory adherence.

  1. Workplace Safety & Health Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act, Regulations, and company safety procedures.

  • Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and conditions.

  • Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Monitor workers' compliance with safety requirements and PPE usage.

    Risk Assessment & Safe Work Procedures

  • Assist in preparation and review of Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).

  • Ensure control measures are implemented before commencement of work.

  • Monitor high-risk activities such as lifting operations, work at height, welding, cutting, and machinery operation.

    Safety Inspection & Monitoring

  • Conduct regular inspections of work areas, equipment, tools, scaffolds, lifting gear, and housekeeping standards.

  • Maintain inspection records and follow up on rectification actions.

  • Attend site safety walks and audits with clients, consultants, and main contractors.

    Safety Training & Communication

  • Conduct safety induction for new employees and workers.

  • Organize toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and awareness programs.

  • Promote safety culture and communicate safety alerts to all employees.

    Incident Investigation

  • Assist in investigation of accidents, incidents, near-misses, and dangerous occurrences.

  • Prepare investigation reports and recommend preventive measures.

  • Monitor implementation of corrective actions.

    Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain safety records including:

  • Toolbox meeting records

  • Inspection reports

  • PPE issuance records

  • Incident reports

  • Equipment inspection certificates

  • Prepare monthly safety reports and statistics.

    Emergency Preparedness

  • Participate in emergency response planning and drills.

  • Ensure availability of first aid equipment, fire extinguishers, and emergency contacts.

  • Assist during emergency situations and evacuations.
