This opportunity will be based onsite at our fully integrated pulp and paper mill in Augusta, GA.

Essential Functions
- Master the Process: Partner directly with engineers to learn the end-to-end papermaking cycle—from raw materials to final distribution
- Drive Operational Excellence: Identify operational efficiencies and recommend strategic improvement projects across the facility
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with team members, plant staff, and departmental leaders
- Lead Impactful Safety Projects: Take ownership of hands-on assignments in areas such as:
- Lockout procedure verification and auditing
- Machine guarding assessments
- Industrial hygiene monitoring
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
- Majoring in occupational health and safety, engineering or industrial hygiene with a 3.0+ overall GPA
- Attention to detail with strong organizational, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; self-motivated and results oriented
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in manufacturing and operational areas, including eye and hearing protection, hard hat, and steel-toed footwear
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, odors, temperature variations, and industrial conditions
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling as required by the role
- Extended periods of standing, walking, and working on concrete or uneven surfaces
- Climbing stairs, ladders, platforms, or elevated work areas as required by the role
