Build a Safer Future with Piper Electric

Piper Electric, a Crete United Company, has proudly served the Denver metro area since 1983. Our success is built on the people who power our projects, and their safety is always our highest priority.

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to help lead and strengthen our safety culture across electrical construction, service, and field operations. Reporting to the Safety Director, this position will partner closely with field leaders, project managers, and employees to ensure safe work practices, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across our jobsites.

The ideal candidate is a visible, hands-on safety professional who can build strong relationships in the field, coach employees at every level, and confidently address unsafe conditions before they become incidents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and reinforce a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture across all Piper Electric operations.

  • Conduct regular jobsite inspections, safety audits, and field observations.

  • Identify unsafe conditions or behaviors and work with field leadership to implement immediate corrective actions.

  • Support compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, company safety policies, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Lead or support new-hire safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training.

  • Partner with superintendents, foremen, project managers, and operations leaders to develop site-specific safety plans.

  • Monitor electrical safety practices, including lockout/tagout, energized work, arc-flash protection, grounding, PPE, ladder safety, fall protection, and safe use of tools and equipment.

  • Investigate incidents, injuries, property damage, and near misses; document findings and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

  • Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, training documentation, incident reports, and required regulatory logs.

  • Assist with workers’ compensation claims, return-to-work coordination, and post-incident follow-up as assigned.

  • Review project hazards and participate in preconstruction meetings, job hazard analyses, and high-risk activity planning.

  • Track safety trends and performance metrics and communicate findings to the Safety Director and operational leadership.

  • Maintain required safety supplies and verify that employees have appropriate PPE and equipment.

  • Stay current on changes to safety regulations, industry standards, and electrical construction best practices.

  • Exercise stop-work authority when an immediate safety risk is identified.

  • Travel to Piper Electric jobsites throughout the Denver metro area and other project locations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience, preferably within the electrical, commercial construction, industrial, or skilled-trades environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards and electrical safety requirements.

  • Experience conducting jobsite inspections, incident investigations, and employee safety training.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with field employees, customers, subcontractors, and leadership.

  • Strong coaching and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to gain trust and influence safe behavior.

  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and follow-through skills.

  • Comfortable working in active construction environments and responding to changing field conditions.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety-reporting systems.

  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.

  • First Aid/CPR/AED instructor certification.

  • CHST, CSP, or other recognized safety certification.

  • NFPA 70E training or electrical safety experience.

  • Experience supporting multiple projects or jobsites simultaneously.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus.

Physical and Work Requirements

  • Ability to regularly visit active construction sites and navigate uneven surfaces, ladders, stairs, and partially completed structures.

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds when necessary.

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Some early-morning, evening, or emergency-response availability may be required based on project needs.

Why Join Piper Electric?

  • Join a respected electrical contractor that has served the Denver community for more than 40 years.

  • Help shape a safety culture where employees are treated as individuals—not numbers.

  • Work directly with field and operational leaders who value practical, solutions-focused safety support.

  • Access career development opportunities through Piper Electric and the broader Crete United network.

  • Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, paid holidays, and more.
