Safety Manager (WSHO)
Job Summary
You will lead the implementation and monitoring of Workplace Safety & Health and Environment Management Systems at construction sites, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and coordinating safety efforts with project teams, subcontractors, and authorities.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor Workplace Safety & Health and Environment Management Systems at work sites to ensure compliance and safety.
- Coordinate project safety matters effectively with project teams and subcontractors to maintain a safe working environment.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities such as MOM, NEA, PUB, HDB, and consultants on safety-related matters to ensure adherence to legal requirements.
- Conduct regular Workplace Safety & Health inspections and execute follow-up actions to maintain safety compliance.
- Review, update, and communicate Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations regularly to all relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure the project meets all statutory obligations related to health, safety, and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
- Complete and regularly review risk assessments for all work equipment and operations to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Document and investigate all accidents thoroughly and implement recommended improvements to prevent recurrence.
- Review subcontractors’ health & safety policies, systems of work, and procedures to ensure alignment with project safety standards.
Required competencies and certifications
- MOM Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) certification.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in HDB construction projects.
- Proficiency in ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.
