Safety Officer

• Supports HSE Manager to implement the company & client approved project HSE Plan & Policies & procedures and providing the assistance with the HSE Manager on site health and safety issues as required.
  
• Develop site Health & Safety culture.
  
• Preparing Risk Assessment JSA and Its Management.
  
• Conduct new employee orientations and file documents.
  
• Conduct a daily tour of the working areas and log details of the observations on the Daily Observation Register.
  
• Ensuring that all non-routine and potentially hazardous routine jobs are carried out under permit to work system with associated complimentary certificates.
  
• Unsafe conditions and unsafe acts are to be reported immediately
  
• Identification of hazards, control, and prevention, and presentation in weekly construction meetings.
  
• Investigating all accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying the root cause and preparing reports with the findings and corrective actions.
  
• Conducting Health & Safety trainings, Weekly meetings, campaigns, Award functions, drills.
  
• Conducting weekly walk round with consultants and subcontractors for better improvement of HSE.
  
• Making Monthly / Weekly Statistics Report.
  
• Preparing and presenting HSSE Performance review on month ending.
  
• Implementing and monitoring Fire Prevention System
  
• Achieving target zero accident performance.
  
• Developed and implemented emergency response procedures.
  
• Verifies that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use.
  
• Educating the workers and ensuring that tools, machinery, and equipment are in proper working order, and well arranged.
  

Requirements

• NEBOSH Certified
  
• Diploma/Bachelors in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical or relevant field
  
• Minimum of 4. years of experience as a safety officer in the construction industry.
  
• Thorough knowledge of local safety regulations, codes, and standards.
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate safety requirements to diverse audiences effectively.
  
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
