Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies, procedures and programmes in line with Philippine labor laws and international best practices
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses, preparing detailed reports and identifying root causes to prevent future occurrences
  • Deliver safety training and induction programmes to all employees, contractors and new hires, ensuring comprehensive understanding of safety protocols
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations and conduct audits to ensure adherence to established standards
  • Maintain accurate safety records, documentation and statistics, preparing reports for management review
  • Promote a positive safety culture by encouraging employee participation in safety initiatives and recognition programmes
  • Coordinate with external agencies, regulatory bodies and emergency services as required
  • Respond promptly to safety concerns and emergencies, providing first aid or emergency assistance as needed

Requirements

  • Certification as a Safety Officer or equivalent qualification (OSHC, IOSH or similar recognised certification preferred)

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in construction, logistics or warehouse environments

  • In-depth knowledge of Philippine Occupational Safety and Health standards and relevant labor legislation

  • Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment and control measures

  • Excellent communication and training skills with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels

  • Proficiency in incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and safety management systems

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

  • Physical capability to conduct workplace inspections and site visits

  • Valid driver's license is advantageous
