Safety Officer

Job Description

• Implement and maintain workplace safety and health (WSH) policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and identify unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore WSH legislation and relevant regulations.
• Conduct safety briefings, toolbox meetings, and safety training for workers.
• Monitor contractors and workers to ensure safe work practices are followed.
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare reports.
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, risk assessments, and permits.
• Monitor and enforce the use of appropriate PPE.
• Assist with emergency preparedness, drills, and response procedures.
• Coordinate with management, contractors, workers, and relevant authorities on safety matters.
• Recommend corrective and preventive actions and follow up on their implementation.
• Support internal and external safety audits and inspections.

Requirements

Relevant qualification in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) or Occupational Safety and Health.

WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (ACWSH) or equivalent, where applicable.

Relevant Singapore WSH experience, preferably in construction sector.

Familiarity with Singapore WSH legislation and risk-management requirements.

Good communication and report-writing skills.

Able to conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and safety briefings.

Relevant registration or certification with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) where the position requires a registered WSH Officer.
