Job Summary

We are looking for a diligent and proactive Safety Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for minimizing the risk of job-related accidents, injuries, and illnesses. Your primary goal will be to develop a culture of safety across the organization, ensuring all employees follow safety regulations and policies, and that our workplace remains safe and compliant with occupational health and safety laws.



Key Responsibilities

  • Policy Implementation: Develop, implement, and update workplace health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with local and international regulations (e.g., OSHA).
  • Inspections & Audits: Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Risk Assessment: Assess risks and design risk-reduction strategies for various operational activities.
  • Training & Education: Organize and conduct safety training sessions, drills, and on boarding orientations for employees and contractors.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate workplace accidents, near-misses, or injuries to determine the root cause and provide actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Reporting: Maintain detailed records of all safety-related incidents, inspections, and training. Prepare official safety reports for management and regulatory bodies.
  • Equipment Oversight: Ensure that all safety equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, and first-aid kits are properly maintained and utilized.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Establish and manage emergency response plans (e.g., evacuation plans for fires or natural disasters).


Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Valid professional safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA 30-hour, or equivalent).
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar compliance/safety role.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and public speaking skills for conducting training.
    • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to remain calm and lead during emergency situations.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
