Safety Officer / Workplace Safety & Health Officer (Construction)

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor workplace safety and health practices across construction project sites to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company procedures.

• Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, unsafe working conditions and areas requiring improvement.

• Work closely with project teams, subcontractors and site personnel to implement safety measures and maintain a safe working environment.

• Prepare and review risk assessments, safe work procedures and other workplace safety documentation.

• Investigate workplace incidents, accidents and safety violations, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.

• Conduct safety briefings, training sessions and awareness programmes for site personnel.

• Monitor subcontractors' compliance with site safety requirements and safe work practices.

• Organise workplace safety committee meetings and prepare relevant safety reports, records and statutory submissions.

• Coordinate with relevant authorities on workplace safety, health and environmental matters when required.

• Support the implementation of safety campaigns and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Guide and supervise site safety personnel in carrying out their daily responsibilities.

• Assist with return-to-work arrangements for employees recovering from workplace injuries.

Job Requirements

• Relevant experience in workplace safety and health management within the construction industry.

• Knowledge of Singapore's Workplace Safety and Health regulations and construction site safety requirements.

• Experience conducting site inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations and safety training.

• Able to prepare WSH documentation, safety reports and compliance records.

• Experience supervising safety personnel and coordinating with contractors and project teams.

• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

• Able to work independently and handle site safety matters effectively.

• Candidates with at least 5 years of experience in LTA construction projects will have an added advantage.
