Safety Training Coordinator

Key responsibilities:

• Training and qualification of contract personnel regarding compliance related to plant safety procedures.
• Schedule and plan safety training for contract employees.
• Follow up on safety training requirements and certification for all contract employees.
• Conduct safety courses for contract employees on topics such as work permits, confined space entry, lockout, tag out, and try procedures.
• Maintain files and accurate documentation of qualifications and certifications for contract employees.
• Implement plant loss prevention programs.
• Follow standard safety rules and regulations, influence others, and provide consulting services if required.
• Adhere to company reporting systems for incidents and accidents.
• Conduct safety introductions for new employees in accordance with company safety rules and procedures.
• Perform task risk analyses before starting maintenance jobs and monitor daily the effective use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by the workforce.
• Continuously monitor and report near misses.
• Conduct frequent toolbox meetings.
• Actively participate in company safety and training programs.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in English communication (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to write and express complex ideas, instructions, and procedures.
• Graduate from high school and a graduate of a 3-year technical school.
• At least one safety credential.
• 5 years of work experience as a safety officer or safety coordinator in a petrochemical plant.
• Understanding and adherence to plant safety standards and procedures.
• Familiarity with petrochemical plant safety hazards.
