SAGD / Heavy Oil - Aboveground Pipelines and Well Pads Process Engineer

- Support and lead process engineering activities across all phases: feasibility and process studies, conceptual design, DBMs, FEED, and detailed engineering
- Develop, validate, and review process simulations and models for aboveground pipeline systems and well pads.
- Author, review, and stamp key process deliverables including H&MBs, PFDs, P&IDs, line lists, shutdown keys, control narratives, calculations and engineering reports.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to intermediate, junior, and global workshare process engineers.
- Manage discipline budgets, schedules, and risk in alignment with project and client expectations.
- Collaborate closely with PMPEs, discipline leads, vendors, and clients to resolve complex engineering challenges.
- Lead and participate in P&ID reviews and PHA/HAZOPs to ensure safe and operable designs.
- Ensure compliance with API, ASME, ISO, and applicable Canadian codes and standards.
- Perform and review line hydraulics, transient analysis, and pipeline calculations.
- Validate line sizing, PSV sizing, and provide input to equipment and instrumentation datasheets.
- Support commissioning, start‑up, troubleshooting, and operational optimization activities.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with APEGA.
- Chemical Engineering degree from an accredited institution.
- 10+ years of industry experience in SAGD / Heavy Oil process engineering specific to aboveground pipeline systems and well pads.
- Proficiency with HYSYS and related software such as PipeFlo, PipeSim, PipeSys, DNV Synergi, and UniSim. Knowledge of Olga software is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of process safety, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience leading process engineering teams and delivering complex projects.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- A client‑focused, solutions‑oriented mindset.
- EPCM project experience.
- Additional P.Eng. registration with EGBC.
