Sage 300 People - Payroll Administrator
Red Ember is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our client’s team in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. The successful candidate will have extensive payroll experience and must have hands-on experience using Sage 300 People. This is a key role for an experienced payroll professional who can confidently manage accurate and timeous monthly and bi-weekly payroll processing.
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate processing of the full payroll function, thereby ensuring that the employees are correctly remunerated on time and that the database and files are maintained and updated correctly.
Basic functions and procedures on Sage 300 People software required for the successful completion of a payroll processing period:
- Accurate capturing of the following payroll input:
- Loading new employees
- Increases
- Earnings
- Deductions
- Company contributions
- Perks
- Terminations
- Capturing payroll input using batch functionality
- Knowledge of the content of Sage 300 People standard reports
- Reconciliation of payroll
- ACB Export
- General Ledger Export
- UIF submission
- Backup
- Start of period procedure
- Administrative duties e.g. filing
- General payroll queries
Knowledge required to ensure that the application of the payroll complies with statutory legislation as well as more in-depth functionalities on Sage 300 People Payroll software:
- Definition and application of RFI, SDL and OID
- Completion and submission of the EMP201
- Employee benefits administration
- Taxability of earnings
- Tax-deductibility of deductions
- Basic BCEA knowledge
- Medical aid fringe benefit
- Access control
- Creating an earning definition
- Creating a batch layout
- Stop further entry
- Tax year-end procedures

Requirements
Grade 12
Sage 300 People training
2 years’ experience working in a Payroll environment (preferable)
