Build a Career Where You Make an Impact Every Day
Why This Role Matters

Are you a sales professional who takes ownership of results and knows how to turn customer interest into revenue? Do you thrive on building relationships, uncovering opportunities, following through, and closing business? Are you motivated by ambitious sales goals and energized by finding ways to improve conversion and grow customer relationships?

We're looking for a high-performing Account Manager who will serve as a critical conversion engine for School Outfitters.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong consultative selling skills with urgency, persistence, organization, and a genuine commitment to the customer. Success means more than answering an inquiry or creating a quote—it means owning the opportunity through the buying process and driving it toward an order.

What You’ll Own

Revenue and Sales Performance
  • Own an annual individual sales goal of $8 million or more and consistently work toward achieving or exceeding revenue expectations.
  • Turn inbound customer demand into completed sales by actively managing leads from phone calls, online forms, quote requests, email inquiries, marketing activities, existing customers, and other assigned sources.
  • Take ownership of opportunities from initial engagement through order placement, improving quote-to-order conversion and overall close rates.
  • Confidently ask for the order, create appropriate urgency, and identify opportunities to increase value through products, services, installation, delivery, contracts, and other School Outfitters solutions.
Consultative Selling and Opportunity Development
  • Conduct effective discovery conversations to understand customer needs, project requirements, budgets, timelines, decision-making processes, and purchasing objectives.
  • Recommend solutions that align with customer requirements, address barriers to purchase, and provide value beyond the initial inquiry.
  • Maintain consistent, purposeful follow-up until the opportunity is won, lost, or appropriately dispositioned.
  • Prioritize sales activity based on opportunity value, customer intent, likelihood to purchase, timing, and revenue potential.

Customer Retention and Relationship Growth
  • Build strong, lasting customer relationships that encourage repeat business and long-term loyalty to School Outfitters.
  • Develop an understanding of customer organizations, purchasing patterns, priorities, and future needs.
  • Reconnect with previous customers, expand existing relationships, and position School Outfitters as a trusted resource.
  • Educate customers on School Outfitters products, services, capabilities, contracts, and solutions to uncover future opportunities.
How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Generate $8 million or more in annual sales revenue.
  • Improve quote-to-order, lead-to-order, and lead-to-quote conversion.
  • Increase customer retention, repeat business, and long-term relationship growth.
  • Create momentum by taking ownership, following through, asking for the business, and finding additional opportunities.
  • Strengthen the overall customer experience while converting demand into revenue.

What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of sales experience with demonstrated success achieving or exceeding individual revenue goals.
  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of sales opportunities and convert customer interest into revenue.
  • Strong consultative selling, discovery, negotiation, objection-handling, and closing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and retain customer relationships.
  • Strong sense of urgency and personal accountability for results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organization, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to analyze performance and adjust sales activity to improve results.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, customer-focused sales environment.
  • Experience with AI solutions preferred.
Schedule
  • Monday-Friday, 9:00am to 6;00pm
  • No weekends or holidays

What You’ll Gain
  • Direct ownership of a significant individual sales goal and measurable revenue outcomes.
  • The opportunity to convert customer demand into meaningful, long-term customer relationships.
  • Exposure to a wide range of customer projects, products, services, contracts, and business solutions.
  • A position where initiative, follow-through, and results are visible and rewarded.
