Sales Agronomy

What You'll Do:

We are currently offering a great opportunity for an experienced Sales Agronomist to join our team. Reporting to the Branch Manager the focus of your role will be to consult and offer expert product knowledge on broadacre cropping and pasture production for our existing client base in Ballarat and the surrounding area.

• Provide agronomic and technical support to farmers and producers in the region, with product sales both in store and on farm
• Build solid and long-term client relationships, developing a strong understanding of clients’ business goals
• Share technical and market information to help clients improve the performance and sustainability of their farming enterprises
• Maintain relationships with an existing customer base, with room to target new broadacre clients through superior sales and agronomic input
• Keep current with the latest plant production practices
• Run and coordinate field days and farmer meetings, positioning yourself as the go-to subject matter expert in the region for broadacre cropping and pasture production agronomic inputs and other advice

What You'll Bring:

• At least 3 years’ experience as an agronomist
• A sound understanding of rural producers’ needs, including key products, seasonal timings and production requirements
• Good customer service, organisation, administration and computer skills
• Confidence managing sales activity, customer calls and follow-up
• Experience in horticulture, particularly potatoes, and pasture production is preferred
• A tertiary qualification in agricultural science or a related field, plus a current driver’s licence
