Sales and Marketing Coordinator
SALES & MARKETING COORDINATOR | THE READ HOUSE
Step behind the velvet rope at Chattanooga's Grande Dame. At The Read House, timeless elegance meets modern comfort. We are seeking a polished Sales and Marketing Coordinator to help us orchestrate legendary gatherings and share our historic luxury experience with the world.
The Sales and Marketing Coordinator role is a full-time, on-site position. Hourly rate based upon experience.
THE ROLE

You will assist the Sales and Catering team with day-to-day operations for group meetings, conferences, and events.

You will also be responsible for creating and managing on-site social media content for all property areas.
EVENT ORCHESTRATION (70% Sales & Catering)
- Inspect guest rooms and event spaces prior to site visits and arrivals to ensure absolute cleanliness and preparedness.
- Create and place group signage in assigned areas.
- Organize, prepare, and distribute weekly Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and Resume packets.
- Review group contracts to ensure all details—including rates, upgrades, deposits, and cancellation terms—are properly set up and followed.
- Manage complete client files, track cutoff dates, and release unused inventory.
- Process rooming lists to confirm room types, share-withs, VIPs, and accessibility needs.
- Prepare pre-con packets, distribute small group menus, and coordinate photo passes.
- Assist with pre-arrival letters, welcome amenities, and suite assignments.
- After events, you will reconcile billing, calculate attrition or credits, and pass clean billing to accounting.
- Support the Reservations team by assisting with internal and external booking calls.
DIGITAL STORYTELLNG (30% Marketing & Social Media)
- Manage accounts and create a social media content calendar for all outlets.
- Develop, schedule, and publish original photographs, videos, reels, and stories.
- Partner with the Corporate Marketing team to coordinate promotions and campaigns.
- Collaborate with department managers to promote content ideas and community engagement.
- Esure absolute consistency in tone, messaging, and branding across all social platforms.
- Identify cross-promotion opportunities and stay current on luxury hotel and food and beverage marketing trends.
- Support event-based campaigns, including pre-event promotion, live on-site engagement, and post-event follow-up.
WHAT YOU BRING
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, though a degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Two to four years of related experience is preferred.
- Experience within luxury, lifestyle, or independent hotels is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of Opera PMS and Delphi is preferred, along with proficiency in reservation and POS applications.
- Must be comfortable using digital tools and social media platforms.
- Excellent communication, writing, and computer skills, along with a highly organized and creative mindset.
- Ability to maintain regular on-stie attendance and be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays when our ritzy gatherings require it.
