SALES ASSISTANT

They often perform the following duties:

• Greeting customers when they enter the store or department and offering assistance
• Determining customer needs and recommending products to fit them
• Answering questions about products and services
• Informing customers about sales, promotions and policies
• Demonstrating how products work to encourage sales
• Processing payments using a POS system and packaging purchases
• Stocking merchandise and creating displays to maintain the appearance of the sales floor
• Taking inventory on a periodic basis
