Overview Of The Role:
- The Sales Assistant is responsible for generating sales and delivering a positive customer experience at Toys R Us, MENA. The role requires managing various operational duties assigned by the store management team, including maintaining store standards in cleanliness and visual presentation. Success in this position involves creating a welcoming environment for customers, providing relevant product information, and efficiently handling transactions while aiming to enhance the customer in-store experience.
What You Will Do:
Customer Service
- Greet customers immediately upon entering the store with a smile and sincere non-business-like greeting.
- Provide customers with current relevant information about the product, assisting them in making informed purchase decisions.
- Thank all customers sincerely for shopping and invite them back as they exit the store.
Sales and Operations
- Generate sales by creating a positive first impression for the customer through an energetic attitude and adherence to the dress code.
- Provide quality service in the fitting rooms and follow up with customers in a timely manner.
- Attempt to add on to sales by offering additional products or services.
Store Maintenance and Presentation
- Maintain store standards and cleanliness to ensure a sparkling clean and organized environment.
- Ensure visual presentation standards are met, contributing to an attractive store layout.
- Perform housekeeping duties as assigned by store management.
Cashiering and Financial Transactions
- Provide efficient service at the cash wrap, capturing customer information in the database and offering gift cards.
- Maintain cash wrap cleanliness and process transactions accurately.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage and interact positively with customers.
- Ability to handle cash transactions efficiently and maintain cashier area cleanliness.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain store standards and presentation.
- Skill in using design software such as AutoCAD, Sketchup, Illustrator, or Photoshop.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of retail sales experience, preferably in a dynamic and customer-focused environment.
- Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) packages like AutoCAD, Sketchup, Illustrator, or Photoshop to create visuals and plans.
- Good verbal communication skills, ability to perform some heavy lifting, and capability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours.
