Sales Associate ( Education)

The Opportunity

Flywire is seeking a commercially minded Sales Associate for Agent Partnerships in China to support new partner acquisition, build qualified pipeline, and drive revenue growth across the China agent partnership market.

This role is designed as a junior commercial role with responsibilities similar in scope to a Sales Manager, but with expectations scaled appropriately for someone earlier in their sales career. The successful candidate will be expected to own meaningful sales activities, manage pipeline discipline, and contribute directly to new business revenue, while receiving coaching and support from the Director of Agent Partnership Sales (APAC) and the broader China sales team.

The role will focus on identifying and signing up new agent partners, developing market opportunities, supporting strategic outreach, and increasing utilization of Flywire’s platforms. Exposure to, or understanding of, international schools, Sino-foreign joint programs, pathway programs, and broader international education ecosystems in China would be a strong advantage.

Reporting directly to the Director of Agent Partnership Sales (APAC), the Sales Associate will work closely with Sales, Implementation, Client Optimization, Marketing, and other internal stakeholders to execute growth strategies, uncover new business potential, and ensure new partners have the best payment experience and support in the industry.

In this role, you will represent an important growth engine within the China business. You will help open new partner relationships, qualify opportunities, support commercial discussions, and build the foundation for long-term partner success.

Here’s What We’re Looking For:

Execution

  • Support and execute the Agent Partnership growth strategy for China, aligned with the broader regional and global strategy.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new agent partnership opportunities across the China market.
  • Build and maintain a structured pipeline of prospective partners, including education agents, international schools, Sino-foreign joint programs, pathway providers, and other relevant education institutions.
  • Gain a clear understanding of potential partners’ goals, student flows, payment needs, and internal decision-making processes.
  • Support proposal preparation, partner conversations, contract coordination, and onboarding of new partners.
  • Maintain strong organization and prioritization to ensure momentum across outreach, follow-ups, meetings, and pipeline progression.
  • Track all sales activities, opportunities, and partner information accurately in CRM.

Commercial Drive & Partner Development

  • Demonstrate a proactive, target-driven mindset and willingness to build new business from the ground up.
  • Conduct outreach to prospective partners and support the full sales cycle from lead generation to signed partnership.
  • Develop strong working relationships with partner stakeholders and identify ways Flywire can support their business objectives.
  • Learn to position Flywire’s value proposition clearly, including localized payment options, payer experience, operational efficiency, compliance support, and revenue growth opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities for referrals, partner introductions, and new education ecosystem connections.
  • Contribute to measurable business outcomes through new partner signings, qualified pipeline creation, revenue delivery, and referral opportunities.

Ambitious Innovation

  • Identify new payment flow opportunities and potential use cases across agents, schools, international programs, and education service providers.
  • Bring market feedback and partner insights to the team to help refine targeting, positioning, and product-market fit in China.
  • Evaluate how technology, data, and partner engagement tools can improve outreach quality, conversion, and partner experience.
  • Adopt a data-driven approach, working alongside Client Analysts and sales leadership to spot risks and opportunities early.

Global Collaboration

  • Work with product, technical, implementation, client success, operations, and marketing teams to support partner onboarding and growth.
  • Collaborate across Flywire’s global education business to share market insights and learn from best practices in other regions.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives such as partner referral campaigns, market events, FAB forums, and school or agent engagement programs.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the China sales team to align on priorities, territory focus, account distribution, and partner follow-up.
  • Contribute to a positive, accountable team culture by supporting team goals and sharing market intelligence.
  • Escalate support requests or partner issues appropriately and follow through until resolved.
  • Participate in goal-setting, KPI tracking, pipeline reviews, and regular coaching sessions.

Evolved Learning

  • Build strong knowledge of Flywire’s products, payment solutions, partner model, and education vertical.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of China’s international education market, including agent channels, international schools, Sino-foreign joint programs, pathway programs, and student payment behavior.
  • Contribute to internal projects as assigned, building specific areas of expertise that can benefit the broader team.
  • Demonstrate coachability, curiosity, resilience, and a willingness to improve sales capability over time.
  • Follow best practices to acquire, implement, and support the Flywire solution.

What You’ll Bring

  • 1-3+ years of experience in sales, business development, relationship management, account coordination, partnerships, education services, or a related commercial role.
  • Strong interest in developing a career in sales, partnerships, or business development.
  • Clear communication skills in Mandarin and English, with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders professionally.
  • Proactive attitude, strong ownership, and comfort working toward clear targets and measurable outcomes.
  • Good organization, follow-up discipline, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to feedback, and operate in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, sales reporting, or structured pipeline management is preferred but not required.

Preferred / Bonus Experience

  • Experience or network within China’s international education sector, especially international schools, Sino-foreign joint programs, pathway programs, overseas study agencies, or education groups.
  • Previous exposure to student recruitment, education agents, school partnerships, international programs, or education-related B2B services.
  • Understanding of international student payment flows, overseas tuition payment scenarios, or education financial services.
  • Experience participating in education fairs, partner events, school visits, or industry relationship-building activities.
  • Ability to bring relevant market insight, warm connections, or referral opportunities into the role.
