Fairport Hardware is hiring a Part time Sales Clerk. We are a local business that offers their customers high quality service and products. Every member of our team plays a critical role. We are dedicated to serving our community and are committed to “doing what it takes” to satisfy our customer’s needs. We aim to make our store a great shopping experience.
Requirements:
- 1+ year of retail experience.
- Able to work a flexible schedule (combination of weekday mornings, afternoons, and evenings as well as some weekends) to support business needs.
- Please do not apply if your schedule is not flexible enough to rotate different shifts.
- Instills trust and ensures accountability.
- Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
- Open to working 16-24 hours per week.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- General experience with hardware and eager to learn.
- Efficiently able to use computers and/or POS (point of sale) system.
- Collaborative and adaptable to carry out a variety of tasks.
- Must be motivated and able to multitask between special assignments & customers at the register.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in pricing, stocking, inventory, marking and bagging of merchandise.
- Promote and sell items with a basic understanding to reach store goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
- Assisting with opening and/or closing procedures when needed.
- Standing & walking for 4-6 hour shifts, lifting (up to 25lbs).
