Sales Development Representative

We are a modern gym management software built for gym owners who want to run and grow their business. We serve thousands of martial arts academies, boutique fitness studios, and multi-location gyms worldwide with CRM, billing, scheduling, payments, and member management in one platform. We already get steady inbound interest from Australia and New Zealand, and both markets are dense with martial arts academies and boutique gyms. This role exists to go get that market on purpose instead of waiting for it to find us.

We are hiring our first Sales Development Representative focused on Australia and New Zealand. You will prospect, contact, and qualify gym owners across the region, then book meetings for our Account Executive team. This is a phone-forward role, but it is not a pure cold dialing seat. Gym owners in Australia and New Zealand are wary of unknown international numbers, so you will run a sequenced approach: a warm-up email or message first, then the call, then persistent and polite follow-up. You will often reach a front desk staff member before you reach the owner, and getting past that conversation with credibility is a core skill in this job. Your job is to earn a real conversation, understand how the gym operates, figure out whether our company is a fit, and book them onto an AE's calendar. You are measured on qualified pipeline, not activity for its own sake.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Run outbound sequences into Australian and New Zealand gyms: martial arts academies, boutique fitness studios, and multi-location operators. Expect 60 to 100 outbound touches per day across calls, email, and SMS.
  • Lead with a warm-up touch before dialing. Cold-calling a screened mobile does not work in this market and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
  • Handle the front desk conversation well: explain the company is in one sentence, find out who makes software decisions, and get to that person.
  • Work cold prospect lists of gyms running competitor software including Clubworx, GymMaster, Hapana, Mindbody, Glofox, and Zen Planner.
  • Work expired and inactive trial lists: gym owners in your region who signed up, did not convert, and need a human to re-engage them.
  • Follow up fast on inbound leads, demo requests, and form fills from your markets. Speed to lead is a core expectation.
  • Run qualification conversations that uncover how the gym operates today: software in use, member count, number of locations, program types, pain points, and timeline.
  • Book qualified prospects onto an Account Executive's calendar and set the meeting up to succeed: confirm the time, send the invite, and write a handoff note the AE can actually use.
  • Reduce no-shows through confirmation calls, reminder emails, and rescheduling anyone who slips.
  • Log every call, outcome, and qualification detail in HubSpot the same day. Clean data is part of the job, not an afterthought.
  • Feed back what you learn. You are our ears in a market we are still learning: what objections come up, which competitors show up most, what messaging lands.
  • Hit and exceed monthly targets for qualified leads (SQLs) and AE-accepted qualified leads (A-SQLs).

Requirements

  • 2+ years in an outbound sales development, telesales, or high-volume cold calling role, ideally selling B2B software or services into Australia, New Zealand, the US, or the UK.
  • Excellent spoken English with a neutral, easy-to-understand accent. This is a phone-first role and gym owners need to understand you immediately.
  • Comfortable with rejection and high volume. Connect rates in this market run lower than in the US, so persistence matters more than average here.
  • Genuinely curious in conversation. You ask questions and listen instead of reading a script at people.
  • Able to think on your feet. When the conversation goes somewhere the script does not cover, you keep it moving instead of stalling.
  • Organized and CRM-disciplined. You update records without being asked.
  • Coachable. You want call reviews, you act on feedback, and you improve week over week.
  • Self-directed. Your manager and the AE team sit in a different time zone for most of your shift, so you need to run your day without someone watching.
  • Reliable home setup: quiet workspace, stable high-speed internet, a backup power or internet plan, and a quality headset.
  • Bonus: experience selling into Australia or New Zealand, experience selling to small business owners, experience in fitness or martial arts, or familiarity with HubSpot and cloud dialers such as Aircall
