Sales Development Representative
The Sales Development Representative is a critical position between Sales & Marketing. With knowledge of the industry and the company's strategy they develop sales strategies designed to demonstrate the features and benefits of the products to achieve increased sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation and Engagement
- Generate leads and participates as a key member of the development team for new sales using sites like ZoomInfo
- Monitor bid sites daily using platforms like BidOcean and Construct Connect
- Conduct outreach to Engineering firms specializing in underground utilities to have Vortex Materials spec’d in
- Conduct outreach to City/County Engineers and Approval committees to have Vortex Materials spec’d in
- Identify local, state, and federal funding sources
- Track capital improvement project budget reviews
- Maintain and update CRM (Salesforce experience preferred) with lead and prospect information.
Market Intel and Research (Sales strategy and research focus)
- Segmented outreach by state, rotating as needed for maximum coverage
- Prepare data for estimating and operations team
- Track bids, projects, and private work
Customer Engagement
- Owns the customer experience and identifies opportunities for improvement
- Provide regional sales support by facilitating meetings with engineers, public works professionals, and material approval board to showcase Vortex Products and Services offerings. Meetings should stem from outreach efforts.
- Conduct market research, including consent decree markets as well as various City and Municipality CIP plans
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Previous experience in sales or customer support role a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to utilize critical thinking to resolve issues
- Ability to navigate multiple levels of external stakeholders to achieve desired results
- Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines tactical approach, resources, schedules and goals
- Ability to complex issues and projects
- Previous experience in the construction industry a plus
