Company Description
Bodorlaser is supporting our authorized distributor, Productivity Inc., in recruiting an experienced sales professional to support its continued growth in the Upper Midwest market.
Headquartered in Minnesota, Productivity Inc. provides manufacturing technology, machine tools, metal fabrication equipment, and related solutions to manufacturing customers. This position will be employed directly by Productivity Inc., with a primary focus on developing and supporting customers across Minnesota, eastern South Dakota, and North Dakota.
Role Description
Productivity Inc. is seeking a driven and results-oriented Sales Engineer to develop and manage sales opportunities across the assigned territory, primarily covering Minnesota, eastern South Dakota, and North Dakota.
The ideal candidate will have previous sales experience in the machine tool, metal fabrication, industrial machinery, or related manufacturing industry. Candidates with experience working for machine tool or fabrication equipment manufacturers, distributors, or dealers are strongly preferred, particularly those with direct experience selling laser cutting machines or other metal fabrication equipment.
This is a sales-focused position. While technical and industry knowledge are important, strong sales ability, communication skills, relationship-building skills, and the ability to independently develop customers and grow a territory are critical to success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory while developing and maintaining relationships with existing customers.
- Manage the full sales process, including prospecting, customer visits, needs assessment, quotations, proposals, negotiations, and closing.
- Understand customers' manufacturing processes and business needs and recommend appropriate machinery and equipment solutions.
- Regularly visit manufacturing and metal fabrication customers throughout the territory to develop relationships, identify opportunities, and support the sales process.
- Work closely with technical, application, service, and other internal teams to develop appropriate solutions based on customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain an active sales pipeline and provide regular sales forecasts and activity updates.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer demand within the assigned territory.
- Prepare and deliver proposals, equipment presentations, and other sales materials to customers.
- Participate in customer demonstrations, trade shows, industry events, and other sales activities as needed.
- Work toward an annual sales target of approximately $3 million across applicable product lines, based on end-customer purchase value.
- Other duties as assigned.
