Sales Engineer
Summary
Gil-Mar Manufacturing is hiring a Sales Engineer in Livonia, MI to sell automotive parts by building relationships with client procurement and engineering teams, providing technical product expertise, preparing proposals and quotes, and negotiating and closing deals. The role blends technical sales strategy with post-sale customer support in the automotive supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue sales opportunities within the client’s supply chain by staying informed about product needs, upcoming projects, and industry trends.
- Technical expertise: Demonstrate a deep understanding of our automotive parts, their features, and how they align with Client's requirements. Provide technical advice, solutions, and recommendations to client's engineering teams to ensure our products meet their specifications.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy and account plan for clients, including target setting, forecasting, and action plans to achieve sales objectives and maximize revenue.
- Proposal and quotation preparation: Collaborate with internal teams such as engineering, operations, and finance to prepare compelling proposals and quotations that align with client's needs and pricing expectations.
- Negotiation and closing: Conduct negotiations with client's procurement teams to secure contracts and close deals.
- Customer support: Act as a technical liaison between client and our organization, addressing any post-sales inquiries, providing technical support, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the sales lifecycle.
- Consulting with customers and prospects to identify challenges, pain points, and provide solutions
- Effectively communicating how Gil-Mar solves customer problems and delivers measurable ROI.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A technical background in engineering is preferred.
- Proven experience in technical sales or business development within the automotive industry is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies, meet sales targets, and negotiate contracts.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and interpret market intelligence, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
- Willingness to travel to meet with client's teams, attend industry events, and visit our manufacturing facilities as needed
