Sales Engineer

The Sales Engineer is responsible for driving sales growth while providing technical and commercial support to customers. The role combines quantity surveying, cost estimation, tender preparation, and project pricing expertise with business development, client relationship management, and sales execution to secure new projects and maximize revenue.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within target industries and markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with consultants, contractors, developers, architects, and end users.
- Conduct customer visits and product presentations.
- Prepare and follow up on quotations and proposals.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and project requirements.
- Achieve individual sales targets and key performance indicators.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements.
Quantity Surveying & Costing
- Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and material estimations.
- Develop accurate project cost estimates and pricing proposals.
- Evaluate tender opportunities and assess project profitability.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Monitor project budgets and margins throughout the sales cycle.
- Support contract reviews and commercial negotiations.
Technical Support
- Provide technical advice and product recommendations.
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and project teams to ensure solution suitability.
- Address customer technical queries and project requirements.
- Assist with project handover after order confirmation.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely quotation submissions.
- Monitor project progress and customer satisfaction.
- Resolve commercial and technical issues arising during project execution.
- Support collections and account management activities where required.
Requirements
Education
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
Experience
- 3 to 8 years of experience in quantity surveying, estimation, tendering, technical sales, or project sales.
- Experience in construction materials, engineering products, M&E services, building solutions, or related industries is preferred.
