Sales Engineer - Industrial Boilers

Robert Bosch (Pty) Ltd is looking for an experienced Sales Engineer for our Industrial Boilers team, the successful candidate will support the sales function and lead projects from concept through completion, ensuring technical quality, regulatory compliance, schedule adherence, and cost control. Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Provide pre-sales technical support; site assessments, load calculations, and system sizing for industrial boiler installations
• Develop technical proposals, equipment specifications, and costed solutions in response to customer and tender requirements
• Partner with the Business Development Manager to progress qualified leads from the prospect pipeline through to signed orders
• Conduct customer-facing technical presentations, product demonstrations, and site walkdowns.
• Liaise with Bosch engineering, manufacturing, and after-sales teams to ensure proposed solutions are deliverable and serviceable
• Support tender responses, including technical compliance schedules and pressure equipment / SANS 347 documentation where required
• Maintain accurate opportunity records and technical documentation in the CRM and prospect tracker
• Stay current on boiler efficiency standards, carbon tax implications, and emerging decarbonisation technologies relevant to industrial clients
• Represent Bosch at trade shows and industry events

Requirements

• Matric/Grade 12
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regionally across Southern Africa.

Experience

• 3-5+ years’ experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or project engineering (steam, thermal, energy, or industrial equipment sectors strongly preferred)
• More than 5 years’ experience in technical maintenance
• Working knowledge of industrial boiler systems and steam/hot water generation; pressure equipment regulations (SANS 347, PER) advantageous
• Proficiency in MS Office; CRM experience beneficial

Skills

• Demonstrated ability to translate technical requirements into commercially viable proposals.
• Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging plant managers, engineers, and procurement
