Sales Executive
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities within pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmetics, and related sectors requiring third-party laboratory testing services.
- Manage and grow relationships with existing Ugene Lab customers, acting as their main point of contact for commercial and service-related matters.
- Prepare and issue accurate quotations, proposals, and Quality/Service Agreements in coordination with the Quality and Technical teams, ensuring alignment with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Understand customer testing needs (e.g. test parameters, turnaround time, sample handling requirements) and liaise with the laboratory operations team to confirm feasibility and capacity before committing to customer timelines.
- Coordinate onboarding of new customers, including supporting the review and negotiation of Quality Agreements, NDAs, and related contractual documents with input from Quality and Legal/Compliance as needed.
- Track and manage the sales pipeline, prepare regular sales forecasts and reports, and monitor progress against individual and lab-level revenue targets.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and service issues in the first instance, escalating and coordinating with Quality Assurance and Lab Operations for timely resolution.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments relevant to food and TIC testing services to identify new opportunities and inform pricing/service strategy.
- Support participation in trade shows, industry events, and marketing initiatives to promote Ugene Lab's testing capabilities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and opportunity records in the CRM system.
- Work collaboratively with CTI Group's broader international sales and business development network to identify cross-selling opportunities across the group's testing service portfolio.
- Conduct regular customer visits, technical-commercial presentations, and business reviews to strengthen customer relationships and identify & develop new opportunities.
- Coordinate responses to customer RFQs, tenders, and supplier qualification activities.
Qualifications, skill & competencies
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of sales or business development experience.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Good commercial acumen and consultative selling approach.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer accounts and priorities simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working both independently and cross-functionally with Quality, Operations, and Lab Management teams.
- High attention to detail, particularly given the regulated nature of testing services.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
