Sales Executive

Sales Executive, California
At Vortex, we don’t just sell products—we help communities create meaningful, inclusive places where people gather, play, and connect.
As a Sales Executive, you will lead complex, design-driven sales of innovative aquatic play solutions (Splashpads, Poolplay, Water Management Systems) in Northern and Central California. This is not transactional sales—this is long-cycle, consultative selling involving municipalities, architects, designers, and multiple stakeholders from concept to completion.
If you thrive in navigating complex buying processes, influencing decision-makers, and bringing ambitious projects to life, this role is built for you.
What You’ll Do

Develop and grow a pipeline of new project opportunities across your territory
Lead consultative sales processes with municipalities, developers, and design firms
Act as a trusted advisor, guiding clients from early concept through project delivery
Collaborate with customers and internal experts to shape custom water play environments
Work closely with inside sales and technical teams to deliver compelling, accurate proposals
Engage and educate architects, landscape architects, aquatic designers, and planners
Build strong relationships with municipal leaders and navigate public procurement processes
Manage long sales cycles with multiple stakeholders and decision points
Travel throughout your territory to develop and maintain relationships

What Makes You a Great Fit

You excel in complex, multi-stakeholder sales environments (e.g., construction, infrastructure, public sector, or technical solutions)
You are a relationship builder who can influence and earn trust across diverse audiences
You take a strategic, plan-driven approach to territory and pipeline development
You’re comfortable balancing technical understanding with commercial outcomes
You are a confident presenter who can communicate ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
You are self-driven, curious, and continuously learning

Your Background

3–5+ years of experience in field sales with long sales cycles
Experience selling into municipalities, public sector, or design/construction ecosystems is a strong asset
Bachelor’s degree required
Familiarity with CRM tools to manage pipeline and territory

Why Vortex

Work on high-impact, visible projects in communities around the world
Be part of a company that combines innovation, design, and purpose
Strong, collaborative culture—we sell fun, but we work seriously as a team
Competitive compensation and full benefits (Medical, Dental, 401(k) with match, and more)
Structured onboarding, training, and a dedicated buddy program to set you up for success

If you’re motivated by the challenge of complex sales and inspired by creating spaces that bring communities together, we’d love to hear from you.
