Job purpose
Responsible for leading and managing the vehicle sales team to achieve sales targets, maximize profitability, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. The role oversees daily showroom sales operations, develops sales strategies, manages customer relationships, and ensures the effective execution of dealership sales objectives.
Responsibilities
Sales leadership & team management
Lead, coach, and motivate the sales consultants to achieve individual and team sales targets.
Set monthly and quarterly sales objectives and monitor performance against targets.
Conduct regular sales meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews.
Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing sales staff.
Sales strategy & planning
Develop and implement sales strategies and campaigns to increase vehicle sales.
Support marketing initiatives and promotional activities to attract potential customers.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer behavior to identify opportunities.
Sales operations
Manage day-to-day showroom sales activities and ensure compliance with the sales process.
Approve sales deals and negotiate with key or strategic customers when required.
Ensure proper lead management and timely follow-up with prospective customers.
Customer relationship management
Handle VIP customers and resolve escalated customer concerns.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and maintain a strong Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI).
Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients and fleet customers.
Inventory management
Coordinate with inventory and supply teams to ensure adequate vehicle availability.
Maintain the right mix of models, trims, and colors based on market demand.
Monitor vehicle aging and develop strategies to sell slow-moving inventory.
Financial performance
Monitor sales profitability and maintain target gross profit per vehicle.
Control discount levels and approve sales pricing within company guidelines.
Promote finance, insurance, and accessories to increase overall revenue.
Reporting & analysis
Track and analyze key performance indicators including sales volume, conversion rate, profitability, and inventory turnover.
Prepare periodic sales performance reports for senior management.
Use sales data and insights to improve operational efficiency and sales outcomes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
Additional certifications in sales management or automotive business management are considered an advantage.
Minimum 6–9 years of experience in automotive sales, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Proven experience in achieving sales targets and managing sales teams in the automotive industry.
Experience in dealership operations and automotive retail environment is preferred.
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop sales teams.
Excellent negotiation, sales closing, and commercial decision-making abilities.
Ability to develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
Solid operational understanding of dealership processes including inventory management and CRM systems.
Excellent customer relationship management skills with strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
