SALES MANAGER
Responsibilities
- Manage and support daily operations across all MEIDI-YA Singapore stores to ensure smooth and efficient functioning
- Develop and implement targeted sales plans aligned with company policies to drive revenue growth
- Conduct sales activities personally to demonstrate strategies and train store members in effective sales techniques
- Evaluate sales strategy effectiveness using the PDCA cycle and report insights to superiors for continuous improvement
- Set and manage KPIs such as sales revenue, customer numbers, and unit sales; collaborate with store members to monitor and improve performance through PDCA cycles
- Oversee product quality, inventory levels, ordering, receiving, and payment processes to maintain optimal stock and product standards
- Manage cash transactions, electronic payment systems, POS operations, and prepare accurate financial statements
- Support store members in delivering excellent customer service and address individual challenges to enhance team performance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming sales environment that boosts team morale and improves customer shopping experience
- Gather and analyze internal and external data, with emphasis on Japanese food and ingredient trends, to inform business decisions
- Manage overall store operations by coordinating people, goods, finances, equipment, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and accounting principles
- Communicate effectively with Japanese headquarters and business partners in Japanese for negotiations and reporting
- Liaise appropriately with external stakeholders including landlords, visitors from Japan, and business partners
- Explain Japanese food and ingredients knowledgeably to customers and store members through conversations and POP displays
- Resolve customer complaints and operational problems sincerely and promptly to maintain customer satisfaction and store functionality
Required competencies and certifications
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and conversing in Japanese sufficient to conduct business negotiations and prepare reports with Japanese-speaking partners and headquarters
- Minimum 10 years of retail store sales experience demonstrating broad knowledge of food ingredients and strong customer service skills
- In-depth knowledge of Japanese culture and food to effectively explain products to customers and staff
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
