ROLE SUMMARY
The Sales Operations & Implementation Manager is responsible for aligning strategic sales initiatives with operational execution, guiding opportunities through the sales pipeline to implementation and live launch. This role combines sales operations support for the National Sales Managers (NSMs) with hands-on project management of new client and wallet share implementations, ensuring stage-gate requirements are met before deals progress and that established deadlines are met at each pipeline stage through launch.
The Manager oversees sales processes, CRM utilization, lead board maintenance, sales enablement, and reporting functions, and serves as the primary point of coordination between Sales, Business Solutions, Vendor Relations, and Key Accounts throughout the sales-to-launch lifecycle.
This role requires strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent implementation timelines, along with the cross-functional relationship-building skills to keep deals and launches on track across Sales, Business Solutions, Vendor Relations, Key Accounts, and Operations.
ROLE COMPETENCIES
- Sales Process & CRM Management: Supports the SVP of Sales and Marketing in designing and maintaining SOPs for all sales activities, leads onboarding and CRM training for new NSMs, and builds and optimizes dashboards for executive reporting, individual sales rep performance, and pipeline/funnel tracking.
- Lead Management & Sales Enablement: Owns and manages the sales lead board, partnering with Marketing on lead generation strategy and tracking lead performance and conversion metrics. Leads sales enablement efforts — training, tools, and resources — that support NSM effectiveness, and partners closely with NSMs to prioritize outreach and target account alignment.
- Pipeline Stage-Gate Ownership: Establishes and maintains stage-gate criteria for each phase of the sales pipeline. Acts as the opportunity validator, ensuring required documentation and approvals — including signed MNDA, signed LOA where applicable, site lists, and invoices/spend data — are complete before an opportunity advances to the next stage.
- Vendor Pricing & Cross-Functional Coordination: Partners closely with Business Solutions and Vendor Relations to ensure vendor pricing and bids are received on time to support proposal and closing timelines, and coordinates with Key Accounts and other stakeholders to confirm deal readiness at each stage gate.
- Implementation & Launch Project Management: Serves as project manager for new client and wallet share implementations, owning the timeline from signed contract through live launch. Builds and maintains implementation project plans, establishing milestones, deadlines, and owners for each workstream, and proactively identifies and resolves risks to keep launches on track.
- Client Handoff & Launch Support: Coordinates cross-functionally with Business Solutions, Vendor Relations, Key Accounts, and Operations throughout implementation, and confirms a smooth transition to Key Accounts and Operations post-launch to ensure continuity of service and a positive client experience.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Actively participates in internal meetings related to sales performance, process optimization, and strategic initiatives, and contributes to internal enablement by sharing insights, best practices, and feedback across teams.
