Sales Representative – Construction Technology
Position Summary
The Construction Technology Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth through a combination of new business development and expansion of existing customer relationships. This is a field-focused sales position requiring active prospecting, territory development, customer relationship management, and consistent follow-through from initial opportunity through close.
The Sales Representative will work with contractors and construction professionals to understand their operational needs and connect them with DirtPrep Solutions' construction technology, equipment, and service offerings. The position partners closely with DirtPrep's technical team to develop solutions, coordinate demonstrations, and ensure customers receive the appropriate products and support.
Success in this position requires more than maintaining existing accounts. The Sales Representative is expected to continuously identify new customers, projects, and opportunities while expanding DirtPrep's presence within current accounts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prospect for and develop new customers throughout the assigned territory.
Manage and grow relationships with existing DirtPrep customers.
Identify new projects, contractors, and sales opportunities through jobsite visits, referrals, networking, outbound outreach, and industry relationships.
Build relationships with contractors, business owners, estimators, project managers, superintendents, foremen, and other construction decision-makers.
Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate DirtPrep products and services.
Sell construction technology solutions including machine control, GPS/GNSS and grade-checking equipment, data and modeling services, rentals, training, and related products and services.
Coordinate with technical staff on demonstrations, product evaluations, and customer solutions.
Prepare quotes and proposals and manage opportunities through negotiation and close.
Identify opportunities to expand products and services within existing accounts.
Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurate customer and opportunity information in the CRM.
Develop and execute territory plans to achieve revenue and new-business objectives.
Maintain knowledge of DirtPrep products, services, competitors, and construction technology trends.
Provide regular sales forecasts and updates to management.
Attend customer meetings, jobsites, trade events, and other business-development activities as needed.
Meet or exceed established sales, revenue, margin, and new-business goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
Previous sales, business development, or customer-facing experience.
Demonstrated ability to prospect, develop relationships, and close business.
Ability to independently manage a sales territory and pipeline.
Strong communication, negotiation, organization, and follow-up skills.
Ability to learn technical products and communicate their value to customers.
Comfortable working with customers at construction and field locations.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
Preferred
Outside sales experience in construction, heavy equipment, equipment rental, surveying, construction technology, construction supplies, or a related industry.
Existing relationships within grading, excavation, heavy civil, underground utility, earthmoving, or site-development contractors.
Familiarity with GPS/GNSS, machine control, surveying equipment, or construction technology.
Experience with Leica, Trimble, Topcon, or similar products.
Direct Leica or machine-control experience is preferred but not required. DirtPrep's technical team provides support for demonstrations and more complex technical applications.

This is a field-based sales position requiring regular travel throughout the assigned territory, including customer locations and construction jobsites.
