Sales Representative
Who We Are
Contour was founded in 2020 by students who saw that the quality of your education was basically a lottery. Teachers stretched thin by the system, learning materials that varied from school to school, and support that stopped the moment you left the classroom.
We began with 5 students in a room. Today 15,000+ students have trusted Contour as their academic partners, and we've grown to 500+ team members across 10 campuses in Australia. In 2025 we ranked #8 on the AFR Fast 100 of fastest-growing companies.
We've produced hundreds of 99+ ATARs, tutored the world-record UCAT scorer, and placed 850+ students into medical and dental schools across Australia.
Contour is made up of three brands:
- Contour Education → academic performance in high school
- Contour MedPrep → entry into medical and dental schools
- Contour TestPrep → entry into selective and scholarship schools
Contour is built by students, for students.
What You Will Do
- Connect with interested families: Contact students and parents who have enquired about Contour, registered their interest or are eligible for follow-up after a free trial. Most outreach takes place by phone, supported by email and text. This is primarily a B2C outbound-calling sales role, but you will not be working from completely cold prospect lists.
- Manage new enquiries: Respond to incoming phone, email and text enquiries, understand what each family needs, explain the most relevant programs and book free trial weeks.
- Drive enrolments: Follow up with families after their trial, answer concerns and clearly explain the value of the most suitable Contour program.
- Own your pipeline: Keep your CRM records accurate, complete follow-ups when promised and maximise every appropriate opportunity.
- Achieve your targets: Work towards clear activity, trial-booking and enrolment goals while maintaining an honest, student-focused approach.
- Improve the process: Share customer feedback and recurring questions with your Sales Team Leader to help improve the family experience and conversion process.
This is a full time, permanent role (38 hours a week) weekdays 11am to 9pm and weekends 9am to 5pm, based at our Melbourne CBD campus.
These are the business’s operating hours, not an expectation that you work every day or every available hour. Evening and weekend availability is required.
What You Will Bring
- Strong communication skills, with the empathy to build real relationships with students and parents.
- Solution-focused, confident addressing concerns and guiding families through a decision rather than pushing them into one.
- Organised under pressure, able to manage multiple enquiries and follow-ups while staying focused on targets.
- Comfortable with CRM systems and quick to pick up new software (bonus points if you've used HubSpot before!).
- Strong academic record through VCE or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Commerce, Business, or a related field.
- Genuinely student-focused, with a real interest in helping families succeed, not just closing a sale.
- Retail, hospitality, call centre, or sales experience (preferred, not required).
Why You Will Love It
- Competitive salary ($70,000 base + uncapped commissions + super), extra leave, EAP access, and lifestyle perks.
- Purposeful work, you're often the first person a family speaks to, and how you show up genuinely shapes a student's start with Contour.
- Real ownership from day one, your pipeline, your targets, your calls.
- Structured training and coaching, weekly group sessions plus personalised feedback, with a real path to Senior Consultant or leadership for those who perform.
- Direct access to founders, no layers of management, inside one of the fastest growing education companies in Australia.
- A driven, easy-going team, hardworking but genuinely friendly, no corporate politics.
