The company is an importer and wholesale distributor of industrial packaging. With over 30 years of operation, they have been providing high quality products and services to businesses across a wide range of industries comprising Commercial Cleaning, Construction and Corporate Offices amongst others.
In 2021, the company was acquired by a global leader in industrial packaging solutions. With recent growth in their operations, they are seeking an Administration Officer to support their local team based in Port Melbourne.
The Position…
Based in Port Melbourne, this newly created role is focussed on driving continued growth in their consumable offerings and expansion into the VIC market. You will be responsible for maintaining some existing key accounts but there will be a strong focus on new business and growing your customer base. The territory will cover all of the Melbourne metropolitan area.
The Ideal Candidate…
To be considered for this role, you will possess the following:
- You must have a minimum of 2+ years prior experience in B2B industrial sales (Desirable)
- Experience in business to business sales is essential.
- Experience in the cardboard / fibreboard sector will be looked upon favourably
- You can leverage off your past and newly acquired customer base and developing new business leads (Desirable)
- You must be able to hunt for new business and account manage as you secure new business
- Identify new opportunities and follow them through to a successful close.
- You’ll be hungry and competitive whilst maintaining your professionalism.
- You’ll know your budget targets and be able to clearly illustrate your plans on reaching these targets on a quarterly basis
- You possess a self-starter attitude with a solid work ethic
- Exposure to quoting and tendering would be advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication is required
- An average knowledge of computing, (Outlook, Excel, Word, Inventory management systems)
- Competent with measuring and offering solutions to customers
- To be able to work independently post the initial induction period
- Able to assist you fellow sales colleagues with technical know-how when required
