As a Sales Team Member in Hardware, Electrical, Plumbing, and Paint, you are the expert customers count on to help them get the job done right. Whether someone is a seasoned contractor tackling a full renovation or a first-time homeowner fixing a leaky faucet, your product knowledge and genuine care for helping people will make all the difference.
This is a role for someone who loves solving problems, enjoys talking with customers, and takes pride in being the go-to person in their department. If you know your way around a hardware store — or are ready to learn — we want to hear from you.
- Assist customers in selecting the right hardware, electrical, plumbing, and paint products for their specific projects
- Provide basic to advanced advice on product usage, installation, and maintenance
- Build positive, lasting relationships with customers through exceptional, genuine service
- Resolve customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner
- Learn and explain the features, benefits, and applications of tools, hardware, electrical, plumbing, and paint products
- Guide customers in selecting the correct materials for repairs, renovations, and DIY projects
- Offer troubleshooting assistance for common home improvement challenges
- Ensure products are well-stocked, correctly labeled, and attractively displayed
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe for both customers and team members
- Work closely with team members to deliver a seamless shopping experience
- Follow store policies and safety guidelines when handling products and assisting customers
- Participate in promotional events, sales initiatives, and product training sessions
- Retail or customer service experience preferred — especially in hardware, electrical, plumbing, or paint
- Basic knowledge of home improvement, repairs, and building materials
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills — you listen as much as you advise
- Adept listener with a teachable attitude and willingness to grow your product knowledge
- Proven and reliable work ethic; dependable and consistent
- Friendly, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences
- Comfortable with point-of-sale systems and basic technology used to process orders and payments
- Ability to lift and move products as needed in the department
- Flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
