Job Description Summary:

The Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) is the senior technical authority for the Salesforce ecosystem and reports to the Head of CRM. The role converts the CRM vision, platform roadmap, and business priorities established by the Head of CRM and business teams into scalable, secure, supportable architecture across the CRM ecosystem, enterprise integrations, data architecture, and enabling technologies.

The CTA owns architecture integrity, technical design governance, and complex solution assurance. The role partners closely with the Head of CRM, who retains accountability for CRM strategy, team leadership, portfolio prioritization, budgets, vendor management, user adoption, and overall platform performance.

The CTA serves as the final architecture escalation point and a trusted technical advisor to CRM leadership and cross-functional technology partners.
This role is designed as a senior individual contributor architecture position that extends the Head of CRM’s leadership capacity through deep technical authority without duplicating business or organizational ownership. CTA accountability focuses on target state architecture, solution design governance, architecture standards, non-functional requirements, technical risk management, complex design assurance, and architecture exception decisions. Shared partnership covers platform roadmap development, major initiative planning, technology evaluations, security and compliance alignment, technical debt strategy, and decision support.

Working within a team of Architects and Developers, this role will mentor team members, evaluates emerging technologies, and serves as the final technical escalation point for complex architectural, integration, data, and platform challenges.

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and architectural oversight for the delivery of custom development, integrations, data migration, and platform modernization initiatives, ensuring alignment with approved architecture, security requirements, and enterprise standards.

  • Translate business requirements and strategic objectives into scalable solution architectures and technical implementation approaches that deliver measurable business outcomes.

  • Drive adoption of AI assisted engineering practices, automation frameworks, and emerging Salesforce capabilities to accelerate solution delivery while maintaining architecture, security, and quality standards.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define requirements, deliverables, and expectations.

  • Lead technical design sessions and solution workshops.

  • Provide technical oversight and governance of strategic Salesforce projects.

  • Provide expertise around design, feasibility, and estimation.

  • Coach and mentor technical and functional team members.

  • Lead code reviews and establish development standards.

  • Own the target state architecture and technical roadmap for the Salesforce ecosystem.

  • Serve as the final technical decision maker for complex architecture, integration, security, and data-related challenges.

  • Evaluate architectural tradeoffs and provide recommendations regarding build vs buy decisions, technical debt remediation, and platform investments.

  • Establish architecture review processes and approve solution designs for high impact initiatives.

  • Define architecture standards for Financial Services Cloud, Data Cloud, Agentforce, integrations, DevOps, and workflow automation capabilities.

  • Partner with the Head of CRM to identify platform modernization opportunities and prioritize architectural improvements.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of enterprise application architecture experience.

  • 12+ years of hands-on Salesforce platform experience spanning architecture, solution design, integrations, automation, and enterprise platform delivery.

  • 5+ years providing architecture leadership for enterprise CRM transformation initiatives.

  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) required.

  • Experience establishing architecture standards, governance processes, and enterprise design patterns.

  • Experience developing architecture strategies across CRM ecosystems, including Salesforce, data platforms, middleware, identity providers, marketing technologies, and third-party applications.

  • Proven experience designing scalable, multi-cloud Salesforce solutions in complex regulated environments.

  • Deep expertise in Salesforce Financial Services Cloud and enterprise CRM ecosystems.

  • Strong experience with large scale Salesforce deployments, complex integrations, data architecture, API frameworks, middleware platforms, event-driven design, and high-volume data processing.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Experience with Data Cloud, AI, Agentforce, and emerging Salesforce platform capabilities preferred.

  • Experience with Apex, LWC, Flow, OmniStudio, Platform Events, APIs, and modern Salesforce development patterns.

  • Demonstrated ability to balance architecture governance with hands-on project delivery and technical leadership.
