Salesforce Delivery Manager
Summary
Delivery Manager owning end-to-end Salesforce initiatives for a student transportation company — leading solution design, stakeholder alignment, and release/DevOps management across Sales, Service, Experience Cloud, Account Engagement, and Conga CPQ/Billing, with hands-on Apex/Lightning work and mentoring of the Salesforce team. Fully remote position.
Summit School Services companies share a strong commitment to provide the highest level of transportation safety, quality transportation, outstanding customer service and positive employee relations. Our corporate headquarters, located in Warrenville, Illinois, houses the administrative and corporate support functions for the organization. Our 250+ local customer service centers (CSCs) are supported by regional operations teams located throughout North America.
We are seeking a Salesforce Delivery Manager to own end-to-end delivery of Salesforce initiatives across our enterprise environment — from problem definition through deployment. This is fundamentally a leadership and ownership role\: you will drive stakeholder relationships, lead solution design, and hold accountability for outcomes, not just code. Strong Salesforce technical skill is required, but the candidate we're looking for leads first and builds second.
You will guide other members of the Salesforce team, represent technical direction to business stakeholders, and ensure our Salesforce platform aligns with business objectives and scales effectively. As Delivery Manager, you will also own the Release Manager function\: deployment strategy, release execution, and ensuring all releases are tracked, documented, and reversible.
Why Join Us?
Work across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Account Engagement, and a full Conga CPQ & Billing lead-to-cash process
Own release management and help build the team’s DevOps and delivery practices as the platform grows
Support an organization that has been transporting students safely since 1917
Fully remote position
Key Responsibilities
Ownership & Delivery Leadership
Own end-to-end delivery on every initiative\: problem definition, solution design, stakeholder alignment, development oversight, testing, and deployment — not just the coding phase
Lead story grooming for all work assigned to the team\: every story must have a documented problem statement and functional/technical design, reviewed and aligned with the Director before development begins
Lead recurring stakeholder and cross-functional standups (e.g. CPQ/Billing) — set the agenda, drive discussion, and deliver specific, contextual status updates
Proactively surface risk, scope, and dependency considerations before committing to timelines or solutions
Validate all code against current production behavior before any deployment request; be prepared to explain and defend every change
Maintain a clear change log for every release documenting all components touched or created
Technical Leadership
Lead the design and development of custom code solutions leveraging Apex, JavaScript, Visualforce, and Lightning components across multiple Salesforce Clouds, including Sales/Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Account Engagement, and Conga Contracts/CPQ/Billing
Translate business requirements into technical designs and solution architecture
Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and governance for Salesforce development
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Salesforce-related initiatives
Solution Architecture
Oversee integrations between Salesforce and other enterprise systems using APIs, middleware, and ETL tools
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance within the Salesforce ecosystem
Team Leadership
Coach and mentor junior team members
Conduct code reviews and provide technical feedback
Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and QA
Release Management
Act as project SME for deployment and release management tools, best practices, and source control
Define, manage, and execute environment and deployment strategy
Run data deployments (sandbox seeding) to test features
Run production releases and be able to roll back or restore if needed
Innovation & Optimization
Stay current with Salesforce releases, features, and industry trends
Recommend and implement enhancements to improve system performance and user experience
Drive automation and efficiency through advanced Salesforce capabilities
