Salesforce Developer (Fixed Term Contract)
CloudM Salesforce Developer (Fixed Term Contract)
CloudM is an award-winning SaaS platform headquartered in Manchester, with offices in London and Varna (Bulgaria), and customers in 107 countries. We help over 50,000 organisations including LinkedIn, Uber, Netflix, , and Spotify, get the most out of Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, through three core products: Migrate, Automate, and Continuity.
From IT admin and onboarding to archiving and migrations, CloudM takes the complexity out of SaaS data management so our customers can focus on what matters. Backed by Marlin Equity Partners, we've grown from humble Manchester beginnings into a global business with a team of over 70 brilliant people across the UK and Europe.
If you share our ambition, we'd love you to be part of it!
Role Overview:
We're looking for a Salesforce Developer to temporarily support our RevOps team on a 6 month fixed term contract. This role is Salesforce only. You will spend the contract building inside one platform rather than splitting your attention across a stack.
Salesforce carries our full commercial picture across sales, marketing, customer success and finance. Over time, automation, validation and process configuration have accumulated faster than they have been maintained. Flows fire when they should not, validation rules block work the business needs to do, and process steps no longer reflect how the commercial teams actually operate.
Your job is to clear that backlog and leave the platform in a state the team can work in without workarounds. This is a defined, prioritised body of work with a clear scope, not an open ended remit. You will have a named backlog on day one and a RevOps Lead who will make the calls on sequencing.
One thing to be clear on before you apply. The majority of this work is declarative. Most of it is Flow, configuration and data remediation, with Apex where the platform genuinely requires it. If you are looking for a role that is predominantly Apex and Lightning Web Component development, this is not that role.
Responsibilities:
Audit, rationalise and rebuild Salesforce Flows, removing redundant, conflicting and failing automation and consolidating overlapping logic
Review and remediate validation rules so they enforce what the business actually needs and stop blocking legitimate work
Fix process and configuration issues across the sales, customer success and renewals lifecycle, including page layouts, record types, picklists, permissions and sharing
Support the quote to cash process across Salesforce and DealHub, resolving configuration issues that cause pricing, product or revenue fields to present incorrectly
Improve data quality through deduplication, field hygiene and record level cleanup, and put simple controls in place so it does not degrade again
Build and maintain the reports and dashboards that RevOps, Finance and the commercial teams rely on
Triage and resolve inbound platform issues from the commercial teams, working to agreed priorities alongside our Revenue Operations Administrator
Document what you build and what you change, so the configuration is maintainable after the contract ends
Flag the structural issues that sit outside the scope of this role, so they can be planned properly rather than patched
Skills and Experience:
Key Skills
3+ years hands on Salesforce build experience in a business critical environment, across both configuration and code
Salesforce Certified Administrator
Strong practical Flow Builder skills, including debugging and untangling existing automation you did not write
Confident across the declarative toolset: validation rules, record types, page layouts, permission sets, profiles and sharing
Able to read, debug and maintain existing Apex and SOQL, and to write it where configuration is the wrong answer
Sound judgement on when to configure and when to code, and willing to defend that call
Experience with data quality work: deduplication, imports, Data Loader and bulk cleanup
Able to build reports and dashboards that stand up to scrutiny from finance and leadership
Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical decisions and trade offs to non technical stakeholders at all levels
Confident using AI tools to improve productivity, problem solving, documentation, process design, testing and operational efficiency. Able to identify where AI can add value, apply it responsibly, and use sound judgement around accuracy, data security and appropriate business use.
Desirable Skills
Salesforce Platform Developer I, Advanced Administrator or Platform App Builder
Experience with a CPQ or quote to cash tool, ideally DealHub
Lightning Web Component experience
Working practice with source control, sandboxes and managed deployment (for example Gearset or similar)
Comfort working with data outside the platform, for example SQL, to clean, match and migrate data
Exposure to RevOps, commercial or finance reporting environments
HubSpot or marketing platform integration experience
Past experience in a fast growing SaaS technology business
