Salesforce DevOps Engineer - CI/CD & Release Orchestration
Summary
Designs and maintains Salesforce CI/CD pipelines, automates deployments, and enforces code quality using Git, SFDX, and tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
Duties and responsibilities:
CI/CD Pipeline Management: Design, implement, and maintain continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using platforms like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
Deployment & Release Management: Manage the end-to-end release process, ensuring stable, automated deployments across sandbox, staging, and production environments using Salesforce DX (SFDX) and Metadata API.
Source Control & Quality Gates: Enforce version control standards (Git branching, pull requests) and integrate static code analysis (e.g., PMD, SonarQube) to ensure code quality.
Environment Strategy & Automation: Develop and maintain environment strategies, including scratch org management and data management, and automate testing (unit tests, regression testing).
Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor release KPIs (deployment success rate, lead time) and troubleshoot deployment or build failures.
Collaboration & Governance: Collaborate with developers, architects, and stakeholders to define DevOps strategies, establish best practices, and improve release governance
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
4+ years of experience in DevOps, Release Management, or Salesforce Platform Engineering.
Hands-on experience with Salesforce DX (SFDX), Metadata API, and Salesforce deployment methodologies.
Strong experience with Git-based source control systems such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of Salesforce development lifecycle management and deployment strategies.
Experience implementing automated testing and quality assurance practices.
Knowledge of static code analysis tools such as PMD, SonarQube, CodeScan, or equivalent.
Experience troubleshooting deployment, integration, and environment-related issues.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in Agile and Scrum environments.
