Job Summary:

The Sanitation Team Lead will oversee the cleaning and sanitation operations performed by the sanitation team. The Sanitation Team Lead ensures that safe work practices are enforced and that all Food Safety Standards are met throughout the site, with the objective of minimizing pre-operational deficiencies, reducing product loss, downtime, and optimizing water and compressed air usage.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Direct supervision of assigned team members.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Safely disassembles and assembles equipment for proper cleaning, set-up line equipment prior to production run.
  • Safely operates equipment and machines used in the cleaning and sanitation process.
  • Follows the Food Safety, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s).
  • Evaluates facility cleaning and sanitation conditions visually and analytically. To assess food safety risks and prioritize corrective actions.
  • Audits processes and documentation against the consistent application and execution of SSOPs and all related sanitation practices.
  • Schedule and conduct shift huddles to review safety concerns, company updates, and overall performance.
  • Performs cleaning procedures required by the Master Sanitation Schedule and other required duties to maintain that assigned areas are sanitary and clean.
  • Perform general janitorial duties as needed.
  • Attend required training, including but not limited to Safety and GMPs. Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Able to change tasks daily.
  • Foster a good teamwork environment.
  • Be proactive in seeking solutions.
  • Follow the required steps to ensure proper equipment operation.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a HACCP certification.
  • Must be able to follow instructions.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • HAACP certification is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to perform physical activities, including lifting to 50 lbs. unassisted, bending, standing, walking, reaching, and twisting.
  • Comfortable working around large moving machinery and in environments that can be warm and dusty (flour airborne particles).
  • Adequate visual and auditory acuity.
  • High-heat environments (fire cookers).
  • Ability to work in cold temperatures (freezers/refrigerators).
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented, and safety-conscious atmosphere.
