Summary:
The Sanitation Technician is an integral member of the Bottling and Sanitation team, responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and safety on all bottling lines. This role includes handling chemicals safely with proper PPE, washing and sanitizing tanks, hoses, lines, and dosing units, performing swab and bubble point checks, and keeping accurate sanitation records. The role may also support bottling operations, including case packing, glass dumping, and line clean-up.
Reports to: Bottling Manager
Classification: Full-Time / Non-Exempt
Compensation: $26 - $28/hour
Schedule: 12:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
Core Responsibilities:
- Safely handle and prepare chemicals, wearing proper PPE
- Wash and sanitize dosing units, pumps, hoses, and transfer lines
- Sanitize hoses before and after bottling runs
- Perform pad filter changes between runs
- Assist Filler Operators with wine handling and end-of-production clean-up
- Conduct machine sanitation, swab point checks, and bubble point checks
- Support safety practices and policies at all times
- Respond to radio communications promptly
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
- Perform general cleaning tasks, including sweeping, trash removal, rinsing, and pressure washing
- Assist Bottling Operations and perform other duties as assigned
Additional Support Areas (as needed):
- Load empty or filled glass bottles onto dump tables
- Hand-pack bottles into cases at line speeds
- Dump reclaim during wine changes
- Hand-stack cases onto pallets while keeping pace with the line
- Rework products (bottles, cases) according to specifications
- Perform tasks on Bag-in-Box (BIB) lines under supervision
- Apply stickers to cartons efficiently
- Utilize downtime productively for projects, clean-up, or team support
