SANITATION TECHNICIAN (8312)

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

This position is responsible for performing all Master Sanitation schedule assignments to ensure that all Production areas and equipment receive appropriate cleaning and sanitizing in compliance with all regulatory, environmental and Food Safety standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to Master Cleaning Schedule for designated areas.
  • Complete Sanitation-related paperwork (e.g., Master Cleaning Schedule forms, work orders, etc.).
  • Read and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and understand Company requirements to comply with all directions for safe use as well as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements as listed on the SDS documents.
  • Able to complete both Operational and Pre-Operational Sanitation inspections.
  • Able to perform Weekly Preventive Maintenance (PM) cleaning.
  • Effectively communicate with Production, Warehouse, Maintenance and Quality departments, focusing on conducting effective and timely sanitation of specific/designated areas within the food processing environment as well as pieces of equipment.
  • Operate PIT equipment (e.g., forklift, scissor lift, floor scrubber, etc.) as needed.
  • Perform routine Sanitation work, including, but not limited to area assessment, organization, cleaning, sanitizing and auditing.
  • Adherence to Company Lock Out/Tag Out and HACCP procedures.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately to comply with HACCP, tracebility, FS, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain excellent position regarding GMPs.
  • Clean and prepare for monthly Fogging, not only in immediate work area, but other areas of the facility as needed.
  • Adhere to the Lifeline Foods Code of Team Behavior. In that regard, this position may be expected to perform duties outside the key responsibilities.
  • Responsible for Food Safety and quality.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The work environment is manufacturing.
  • Frequently exposed to airborne particles (dust) and/or toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Frequently exposed to hot/cold and/or humid conditions.
  • Frequently works near machinery with moving parts.
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes and risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
