SAP BASIS S/4HANA Professional

Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled SAP BASIS S/4HANA Professional with 4 to 8 years of hands-on experience in SAP BASIS administration, preferably with strong exposure to SAP S/4HANA environments. The candidate should be proficient in SAP system administration, troubleshooting, performance optimization, upgrades, migrations, and day-to-day BASIS operations.
Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support SAP S/4HANA systems across development, quality, and production environments.
• Perform SAP BASIS activities including system monitoring, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Manage SAP installations, upgrades, patches, kernel upgrades, and support package implementations.
• Perform SAP system refreshes, client administration, transports, and system copies.
• Monitor SAP systems, application servers, databases, background jobs, dumps, locks, and system performance.
• Manage SAP user administration, roles, authorizations, and security-related BASIS activities.
• Configure and maintain RFC connections, trusted systems, printers, jobs, and interfaces.
• Work with SAP HANA database administration teams on monitoring, backup/recovery, performance, and troubleshooting.
• Support SAP S/4HANA migrations, upgrades, and technical implementation projects.
• Troubleshoot critical production issues and provide root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate with functional teams, infrastructure teams, DBAs, and vendors for issue resolution.
• Maintain system availability, performance, and adherence to operational SLAs.
• Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and operational reports.
• Participate in on-call and production support activities when required.

Mandatory Skills & Proficiency

• 4 to 6 years of hands-on SAP BASIS experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA administration.
• Proficiency in SAP BASIS architecture and administration.
• Strong knowledge of SAP HANA database concepts and administration.
• Experience with SAP system installation, configuration, upgrades, patches, and migrations.
• Proficiency in SAP transport management, client administration, system monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge of SAP kernel upgrades, Support Packages, SAP Notes, and system maintenance.
• Experience with SAP Fiori / Gateway administration is preferred.
• Knowledge of SAP security, user administration, roles, and authorizations.
• Experience with SAP interfaces, RFCs, background jobs, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently handle critical production issues and coordinate with multiple teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementation, migration, or upgrade projects.
• Exposure to SAP Solution Manager / Focused Run.
• Knowledge of SAP High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), backup, and recovery processes.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is an advantage.
• Knowledge of SAP automation and scripting is desirable.
• SAP BASIS or S/4HANA certification is an added advantage.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• SAP BASIS/S/4HANA certification is preferred.

The ideal candidate is a proficient and hands-on SAP BASIS professional who can independently manage SAP S/4HANA environments, troubleshoot complex technical issues, support upgrades and migrations, and ensure high availability and performance of SAP systems.
